Health Reimbursement Arrangement (HRA)

An HRA is an employer-funded account that helps you pay for eligible medical expenses. You don't contribute — Princeton Hydro does.

If you're enrolled in the EPO medical plan, your HRA will reimburse you up to your out-of-pocket maximum after you’ve paid the first $700 (individual) or $1,400 (family) in deductible or coinsurance expenses.

If you're enrolled in the Direct Access plan, reimbursement begins after you’ve paid the first $500 (individual) or $1,000 (family).

Once you've met your share of the deductible, American Benefits Group will automatically deduct from your HRA to pay for eligible services that apply to the remainder of your deductible.

This includes things like:

  • In-hospital stays

  • Surgeries

  • Outpatient surgeries

  • Outpatient radiology

  • Emergency room treatment

Office visits and prescription copays are not eligible.

Additional Details

  • HRA funds run on the calendar year (January 1 – December 31)

  • Unused HRA dollars do not roll over from year to year

  • You must first pay your portion of the deductible before HRA reimbursements begin

  • Submit a claim with your receipt or Explanation of Benefits (EOB) via American Benefits Group or the ABG mobile app
